Pineapple & Rum Slush
Mystery March Week 4 - The Ginette Special
Leah really stole the show with her Mystery March cocktail. Not only did she transform her difficult mix of ingredients but she did it in a slush! What?! We were all so excited as she whipped these up for us on our livestream cocktail hour. So what exactly were her difficult ingredients?
Her mystery ingredients were…
Alcohol: White Rum
Fruit: Pineapple
Spice/Herb: Tumeric
Wildcard: Hot Sauce
———
Our Cup of Choice: Short Latitude Cup
The colour and texture of this slushie drink was so great that we wanted a cup that showed it off. We chose our short latitude cups in our Golden Quartz and Golden Moss colour.
Ingredients:
1 cup of Pineapple Rum Slush
5 dashes of Peach Hot Sauce
1/4 oz Turmeric Simple Syrup
1/2 oz of Dark Rum
Pineapple Soda Water
The Pineapple Rum Slush we made ahead of time. Take 1/2 the juice from a fresh pineapple, 1 cup of orange juice and some white rum and then freeze. It’s that simple! We definitely didn’t measure this one out but it’s pretty easy to wing it and get a good textured slush.
Growing up our owner and head glass blower, Leah, would luck out when she looked in the freezer to find that her mom had whipped up a little boozy rum slush. And since this drink is our distanced celebration for her mom’s birthday, we thought this would be a fitting cocktail to end our Mystery March.
This cocktail is built directly in the glass so add about a cup of the slush to your short Latitude Cup. Then float your peach hot sauce right on top of the slush. Add your turmeric simple syrup on top of your slushie, hot sauce combination and then add the 1/2 oz of dark rum. Finally, top your cup up with the pineapple soda water.
Garnish:
Dehydrated Pineapple Slices
Lime Wedges
Leah made her garnish ahead of time by dehydrating some pineapple disks with tumeric on them! Float your dehydrated pineapple slice right on top of your slushie! Then add your lime wedge to the rim for a little colour and extra zest. Add your Glass Straw and give it a little stir to incorporate it all together.
*We added even more colour with some noise makers for a socially distanced celebration.
Mystery March sure was a lot of fun, we really had to stretch our imagination with some of these cocktails. We were all blown away with how good they all tasted. But don’t take our word for it, try them out for yourself!
