Flaming Strawberry Coconut Champagne Margarita

Sweet & Fiery

Just a cautionary tale for anyone who thinks it might be a good idea to try and open a champagne bottle while live streaming in a glass shop full of breakable items... it’s not. Long story short — nothing broke and no one was hurt in the making of these valentines cocktails.

Our Cup of Choice: Revelstacker Cup

This drink has a lot going on with lots of fruit and garnish and fire. So we went with one of our more simply designed cups, the Revelstacker. These cups are great because the different coloured rims allow you to know which cup is yours. Bonus? They can stack in your cupboard!

Ingredients:

  • 1 and 1/2 oz Tequila

  • 1/2 oz Triple Sec

  • Strawberries

  • Coconut Simple Syrup

  • 1 oz Champagne

  • 1/4 Lime

This is one boozy margarita! Start by dipping half the rim of your Revelstacker Cup into a bit of the coconut simple syrup and then into a mixture of sugar and coconut.

We built this in our Latitude Carafe but you could also use a shaker. First, muddle your strawberries in your carafe. Then add your ice, tequila, triple sec and coconut simple syrup. We used our glass Citrus Reamers to squeeze the juice from 1/4 a lime and then added it to the carafe. If you’re using the Latitude Carafe then give these a really good stir, if you’re using a cocktail shaker then shake for 1 minute. Pour over ice into your Revelstacker Cup. Then pour your champagne over the top of the drink from some extra fizz and flavour!

Garnish:

  • Lime

  • Sugar Cube

  • 1/4 oz 151 Rum

The garnish gets a little crazy here but it’s so worth it! It helps if you have a lot of ice in this drink so the lime has something to balance on! Cut your lime into rounds instead of wedges and then float the round on top of your drink. Take your sugar cube and pour the 151 rum on it so it soaks through then carefully balance this on top of your lime round. Now the trickiest part — light the sugar cube on fire — we highly recommend a long match or long lighter so your hands aren’t too close.

And there you have it, a flaming margarita! Don’t forget to blow out the flame before you take a sip!

xoxo
